Remarks |
Petrus Hubertus Hermans (1852-1922) and his wife Anna Maria Fransen (1851-1928) were portrayed by Henri Goovaerts in 1908. The couple belonged to the higher class of Weert, a town in the south of the Netherlands, where the family owned a wholesale business in colonial goods, a coffee roastery and a vinegar factory. These portraits were made for their neoclassical town villa on the Oelemarkt in Weert which today is still kept as a monument. |
