This is one of three portrait studies of the same unknown man. The studies were made by Henri Goovaerts in the last few days before his death. The current whereabouts of this portrait are unknown. We only know it from a photograph of the interior of Lily Goovaerts’ house in Klein Hehlen (Germany) around 1930. The other two portrait studies are in private property in the Netherlands. |
